A Case Study

“Exam times are the worst. It’s a vicious circle of stress causing a flare up and the eczema adding to my stress!”

Rachel has suffered from eczema all her life but the worst spells strike when she’s most vulnerable.

Exam times inevitably cause a breakout, leaving her to deal with the added stress caused by the incessant itch and need to scratch.

Having just successfully completed her university degree, Rachel has had to learn how to manage the condition when the pressure is on, but as a child she found it more difficult.

“Kids can be very cruel and school can be a lonely place for children with eczema. Bullying is just ignorance, but there needs to be more education about eczema because it affects such a high percentage of children.”
