Hi everyone
We are making a television documentary for Channel 4 about severe allergies and skin conditions. We are particularly keen to talk to young people about their experiences. It's purely for research at this stage and will be totally in confidence. You can email me at: alice@cicadafilms.com or call 020 7266 4646 and I can call you straight back.
Hope to hear from some of you!
Alice

For all the negative feedback you get on the state of your skin, I'm not sure that the people closest to you notice, or if they do, they see beyond it. I used to make sure that I wore a long-sleeved shirt over a vest top if I was out at a club so that people couldn't see the eczema on my arms, but one night after my A Level results came out and I was dancing away madly my mates came and took the shirt off me...it gave me bags more confidence and I've never felt the need to cover up when out on the town since. When I went to university I was really worried that people who didn't know me wouldn't approach me because of my skin and when they did and I made lots of firm friends I discovered that they hadn't noticed, or even known about, my eczema until I told them about it.
