I have been diagnosed (albeit incorrectly I feel) with MS (another inflamatory condition) which has visited me in 7 year cyces which co-incides with very dry and sore skin on my knees, elbows and head. I think that there is something in the 7 year thing!

I was born with eczema, and like most of the other comments here, the worst of it was being my knees, elbows and thighs. I constantly have dry skin and only somtimes get flare up of eczema I use a product which irritates my skin. However, with regard to the 7 year cycle thing...it's definitely true (for me anyway). I had a bad flare up when I was 7, again when I was 14, and now next month I am going to b 21, and I'm startin to get patches of it, but this time it's on my face.Hoping it clears up by my actual birthday though!

I think there might be some truth in it for some people: My skin was a bit dry from 0-7, normal childhood eczema behind my elbows and knees from 7-14, in and out of hospital with it from 14-21, better (practically clear on my wedding day) from 21 up to now. I'm 27, and I really hope that 28 means improvement, and not a new cycle of deterioration.

i had quite bad eczema on the back of my joints when i was a toddler which went completely when i was about 5 or 6. I have never heard of seven-year cycles, but i had a more sensitive patch back on my face and neck about 6 years ago (when i was 14), im now 20 and sometimes have a little scratch in the summer on my arms and neck!

Eczema comes when your a baby and goes in your teen years, but then might come back in the later years in your life!!
I'm 11 i had it really bad when i was a baby but now it only comes back in the summer but only a bit!!
My brother is 2 and has it really bad and is trying the wet wraps and it is working , but we've got to keep his skin well mosterised all the time, My grandad had it when he was a baby, then it went, but know it's come back and he's 65!!
i hope this helped you

Sorry to disappoint, but after 37 years I can honestly say there is no truth in the 7 year cycles.

I hope there is some truth in it. The amount of times I have had it quoted that everything will change when he is 7! Fingers crossed its right.
